Rothschild & Co Asset Management commits alongside skipper William Mathelin Moreaux and Les Invincibles

Comunicados  —  07/10/2026

Rothschild & Co Asset Management and Rothschild Martin Maurel announce a three-year partnership with the Les Invincibles association and skipper William Mathelin Moreaux to support him until the 2028 Vendée Globe.

At the age of 32, William is already a sailor with a solid track record in Class40. He has taken part in more than thirty races since 2018 and notably distinguished himself by finishing third in his category in the 2025 Transat Café L’Or Normandie Le Havre, alongside his co-skipper Pietro Luciani.

His ambition is now clear: to take the start of the Vendée Globe in November 2028, the solo, non-stop and unassisted round-the-world race, aboard a 60-foot IMOCA monohull. Until then, William will take part in a demanding sporting programme, with several offshore races, including the 2026 Route du Rhum.

Beyond the sporting challenge, this partnership also has a strong charitable dimension. Rothschild & Co Asset Management and Rothschild Martin Maurel have chosen to give meaning to this project by donating the visibility spaces usually reserved for sponsors on the boat’s hull and sails to the Les Invincibles association.

Created in 2023, this association supports medical research in order to help find a treatment for ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Charcot’s disease.

Three major events await William in 2027: the Rolex Fastnet Race, the Transat Café L'Or and the Retour à la Base. These are all stages that will allow him to familiarise himself with his new IMOCA, gain the necessary experience with a view to qualifying for the 2028 Vendée Globe, while promoting the cause of Les Invincibles across the world’s oceans.
